Continuing a long tradition of innovation, Adobe is pushing the boundaries of the Adobe Flash Platform with exciting new releases for Flash, Flex, and ColdFusion designers, developers, and administrators. Join us as Ben Forta, Adobe’s Director of Platform Evangelism, presents the future of ColdFusion, Flex, and more! On the ColdFusion side, Ben will talk about the upcoming releases of ColdFusion (currently known by the code name Centaur) and the highly anticipated first ColdFusion IDE from Adobe (currently known by the code name Bolt). You’ll learn about exciting new features and discover how Centaur and Bolt will accelerate your ColdFusion application development. On the Flex side, Ben will talk about the next release of Flex (currently known by the code name Gumbo). You’ll see product feature demos and learn how Gumbo breaks new ground for not only developers but also designers as it powers the design, development, and testing of rich Internet applications and content. And of course, Ben will explain and demonstrate the power of ColdFusion and the power of Flex working together!

What’s happening in new media in Augusta, the Southeast and beyond? Lots. We’ve created a Google Calendar that features info on upcoming RefreshAugusta meetings and much, much more.
If you know of any events that ought to be added to the calendar, email Chris Harrison or Jonathan Delaigle with more info.

This “unconference” is being held in Orlando FL from September 25-27, 2008.
Voce Communications, in partnership with Rollins College will host the third edition of this FREE event that was open to bloggers and non-bloggers alike from Florida and anywhere else. We bring together a good cross-section of folks to discuss blogging, podcasting, public relations, social media, citizen’s journalism and other related topics. The event was as much a social/family gathering as it is a ‘work’ gathering.

RefreshColumbia will be holding it’s July Meetup on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 6:00 PM at The State Newspaper [details]. Several of us from PowerServe will be making the short trek to Columbia to attend, and we’re hoping you’ll consider going as well. Jason Beaird will be discussing his book “The Principles of Beautiful Web Design“. Afterwards, we’ll head to the Carolina Ale House in The Vista.
As far as our events are concerned, I’m hoping to make an announcement tomorrow about an August meetup tomorrow. I’ll post details here on the website and will also make announcements on Twitter.
If you know anyone who works on the web, works in print media, is into photography, etc. I encourage you to let them know about Refresh Augusta. While the web is my first love, I don’t think it should be the primary focus of our meetups. What do you think?
